Layered Guacamole Dip!

When I was a kid my mom used to make a delicious guacamole dip that was topped with all kinds of goodies! She would take it to parties or even just make it for us at home. This dip was so good! SO good! This layered guacamole dip is based on hers. I hope you love it as much as I do! It makes a fantastic dip to take to parties and picnics. Give it a try!

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe avocados
  • ½ cup cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Juice from ½ lime
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup Homemade Salsa or your favorite
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or more if you like
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 tomato diced
  • 1 bag of your favorite tortilla chips

Optional toppings:

  • Black olive slices
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Peel and remove the pits from the avocados. Place avocado, cream cheese, sour cream, lime juice and salt in food processor. Process until smooth and completely blended. Test the seasoning and add more salt if needed. Spread avocado mixture on large plate. Spread the salsa over the avocado and top with the cheese, lettuce and tomato. Add any additional topping if desired. Serve with the chips. Enjoy! Can be chilled for a few hours before.
