Toasted Garlic Broccolini!
By: Kecia’s Flavor Breakthrough!
I had just recently tried broccolini. I love it! My family likes it, too. That is a huge plus! I also think it will be a terrific compliment to the Braised Pork Tenderloin and Wild Rice Pilaf I am making tonight.
- 10 Broccolini spears
- 2 slices center cut bacon, chopped
- 1 tsp. butter
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cut about one inch off of the stalks of your broccolini, now slice them down the middle into four pieces. Put about an inch water into a saucepan and place broccolini into the water, cover. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
Drain into colander and run cold water over the broccolini to stop cooking.
In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crisp.
Add the butter and garlic. Cook over medium heat, stirring often.
Cook until garlic starts to get a nice golden color. Add a little salt and pepper, to taste.
Put broccolini into the skillet. Heat through and toss to coat with the bacon and garlic.
