Open Faced Chili Cheese Dogs!

My Honey likes a good hotdog, my son… not so much. But I think if smother it in some of my homemade 3 Bean and Beef Chili, a little onion, a little cheese… what’s not to like? And open face because it will be much easier to eat with a fork! I also got this really great Griddler for a gift from my Honey! This thing ROCKS! It will be great to grill the hotdogs on!

Serves 2



  • 2 of your favorite hotdogs, split
  • 1 cup of your favorite chili (3 Bean and Beef Chili)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • 2 crusty rolls or burger buns

Preheat oven to 400° F

Split dogs

Heat your Griddler to High if you have one, they will take 3 -4 minutes because they are split, use grill side.  These can be cooked in a frying pan over medium high heat for 5 minutes turning them once. In the meantime, place you buns open face up in oven for a few minutes to give it a toast.

Heat Chili

And heat the chili!


Place open on plates. When hotdogs are grilled, cut in half. Place on half on each bun half. Top with Chili, cheese and onion.

Serve with Potato Wedges and salad.
