Chicken Sausage Hoagie!
By: Kecia’s Flavor Breakthrough!
I found these fantastic little chicken sausages at my Aldi store. I have mentioned them before, they have peppers and mozzarella inside. Oh they really are so good! Tonight I thought I would make them into a really nice, hearty sandwich for my guys. Now if you don’t have Aldi you could use any Italian sausage you like for this sandwich!
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 Onion cut into chunks
- 1 Bell pepper cut into chunks
- 4 Chicken Italian sausage cut on the bias
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 4 tablespoons garlic aioli
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350° F
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the peppers and onions, cook until onion becomes slightly translucent.
Add the sausage slices and cook until they start to brown. Remove from heat.
On a cookie sheet place 4 hoagie rolls or you can use hot dog buns. (I am using hoagie rolls for the guys and a whole wheat bun for me) Spread a tablespoon of the aioli on each bun.
Place the sausage mixture into each bun.
Top with the mozzarella.
Now place in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melty and the bun is toasty on the outside.
Cut in half and serve hot.
