Steak and Torchietti Toss!

Fast, easy and oh so good! This dish is a perfect family friendly, quick meal for a weeknight or a busy weekend! I found this wonderful torchietti pasta at my Aldi store! I loved the shape and color of this pasta. I think it could be used for so many things, but tonight it is part of the main dish! This meal is bright and colorful from all the healthy vegetables, hearty from the steak and flavorful from the herbs and garlic. Your family will love it!
Serves 6 – 8
- 1 package torchietti or you can use your favorite bite sized pasta
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 pound lean steak
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 onion, julienned
- 1 bell pepper, diced (I am using yellow for color)
- 2 – 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 dozen grape tomatoes, halved
- shredded Parmesan cheese
Place the pasta in boiling water and cook according to package to aldente, cook the broccoli for the last two minutes with the pasta.
In large stock pot over medium heat brown the steak.
Add the olive oil, onion and bell pepper and cook until the onion is slightly translucent.
Now stir in the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Then add the other seasonings and flour, stir to coat. Now stir in the broth and allow to cook a few moments until it thickens.
Add the pasta and broccoli into the pot, stir to completely combine. Test seasoning and adjust as necessary.
Sprinkle generously with shredded Parmesan cheese and mix in. Serve hot with a nice salad and crusty bread!
