Soft Yeast Rolls!
By: Kecia’s Flavor Breakthrough!
My Honey got me the mixer I wanted a few months ago and I gotta tell you I have been really making the most of it! I have said I am not a baker, but I am really having fun exploring this area of cooking. It is a lot of fun. I found this great recipe for Simple Yeast Rolls in the booklet that came with my mixer and this is an adaptation of the roll, I made them bigger for hamburgers and they turned out fantastic!
- 1 cup warm water (100* to 110*F)
- . 25 ounce package dry yeast
- ¼ cup butter, melted and cooled
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 3 to 3 ½ cups flour
Pour water into mixing bowl. Add yeast and let dissolve for 5 minutes.
Add butter sugar, salt and egg. Using dough hook, mix on low for 30 seconds.
Add 3 cups of the flour and mix on medium for about 2 minutes. Add additional flour if necessary to make a soft dough. Cover and let rise in warm place for about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350*F. Stir down the dough and dump onto a lightly floured surface.
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Then divide those in half to make 8 portions of dough.
Roll into balls; place the balls on a lightly greased cookie sheet (or line with parchment paper). Let rise in a warm place for about 30 more minutes. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until lightly browned.
Cool, slice in half and use for your favorite sandwich or burger.
