Philly Cheeseburgers!

By: Kecia’s Flavor Breakthrough!

Yep, you heard it correctly PHILLY Cheeseburgers! How can that be bad, right? IT CAN’T! So as you can guess this will be a burger with the toppings for a Philly Cheese Steak! I know my guys will flip over it. I am hoping it is warm enough and not wet out so I can grill but, if not they can be made on the stove! I think I will make some Potato Wedges to go with them.

Serves 4

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef (or turkey will work as well)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced (yes I like pepper and onions)
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tbsp. mayonnaise (the real stuff)
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. parsley
  • 4 soft deli rolls or small hoagie rolls

Well… I guess I will be doing the burgers in a pan! It is wet out there!!

Patties

Form 4 patties with the ground beef in the shape of your rolls, mine are oblong. Season with salt and pepper.

Pepper and Onion

Heat oil skillet over medium heat, add pepper and onion.

Translucent

Cook while stirring until vegetables become soft and onion becomes translucent.

Set aside

Remove from skillet and set aside.

Cook Patties

(the small one is mine)

Place the patties in the skillet. Cook three to four minutes on each side (until your desired temperature is reached), turn heat down to low.

Top with Veg

Place peppers and onions on top of patties while still in skillet

Time for Cheese

And top with the cheese slices. Pour water into skillet.

Improvise

(I had to be creative)

Cover and let cheese melt.

Mayo

While the cheese is melting mix, mayo garlic powder and parsley together.

Spread Mayo

Spread on the inside of the top of the rolls.
