Kickin’ Jalapeno Bean Dip!
By: Kecia’s Flavor Breakthrough!
I totally want to have a snack day so dips galore are on the menu! I am practicing up for the game day junk food frenzy I guess! One of my favorite dips is bean dip! I hate to buy it pre-made in the store, full of so much junk. And it really is so easy to make at home!
Serves a crowd
- 2 cups canned pinto beans (or you can use 2 cups of soft cooked dried beans)
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 jalapeno, deseeded and minced
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup medium salsa (medium because the jalapeno adds some heat)
- ½ a block cream cheese
Use an immersion blender or your food processor and process beans until mostly smooth. Place in a sauce pan with the rest of the ingredients. Stir and heat over medium low heat until cheeses are melted and dip is hot!
Serve immediately with your favorite corn chips or even veggies.
