Happy Holiday Cocoa!
By: Kecia’s Flavor Breakthrough!
I am looking outside at snow falling and it is getting me into the holiday mood. I was thinking about the grandkids coming over and what I could make that would be a super special little treat for them while the adults have a couple of cocktails. Hot cocoa is always good, but how boring! So I wanted to make it special. I might have to try it out a couple of times before they come to see if it is any good! (hehe)
Also, I cut the recipe in half this time only two of around to taste it!!
- 2 cups light cream
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup chocolate chips, melted (I used milk, but you can use dark or semi sweet as well)
- Whipped Topping
- 4 peppermint sticks or candy canes
- 2 tbsp. crushed candy cane
Over medium heat whisk the light cream and milk together until hot stirring often.
While the milk is heating, place a candy cane in a bag and crush it up into pieces.
Whisk the melted chocolate in until completely combined and smooth.
Pour into 4 large mugs.
Place a peppermint stick into each mug. Top with some whipped topping and sprinkle with candy cane. Serve.
