Grilled Steak Tacos!
By: Kecia’s Flavor Breakthrough!
With the hot weather I am always looking for ways to escape cooking in the kitchen, but I don’t like cold dinners every night either. That is what I love about the grill! I can be outside, not heat up the kitchen, but prepare a really delicious meal! At the store this past weekend I found this sliced sirloin tip steak that gave me the most perfect idea. These are actually a combination of taco/fajita because I just have to have some peppers and onions with them! Some of my Homemade Salsa and even Spicy Guacamole! Perfect out door dinner!
Serves 4 to 6
- 1 pound thinly sliced sirloin tip steak
- ¼ cup olive oil
- Juice from two limes
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. cilantro
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 bell pepper, sliced thinly
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 8 to 12 small tortillas (corn for me, flour for my Honey and Son)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- Sour Cream
- Black Olives
- Jalapeno Rings
Place meat in a large zipper bag. Mix the olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, cilantro, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and salt together.
Pour into bag. Seal and shake to coat all of the meat. Marinate for at least a half hour up to 2 hours.
Preheat grill to medium heat. Cover a grilling sheet with foil for easy clean up or just place foil on the grill. Place the meat and peppers and onions. Grill until done, checking and stirring every 5 minutes.
Remove from grill. Place two tortillas (2 for each taco) on flat surface. Top with some meat, peppers and onions.
Next sprinkle with cheese and lettuce and desired extras. Serve hot. Yummy!
PS my son said this is my best recipe so far!
