One of my favorite things my mom use to make for Thanksgiving, sometime Christmas dinner was Waldorf Salad. I thought it was her recipe, but it turns out it is my grandmother’s. We lost her a few years ago and I miss her! But we all have wonderful memories of her and this salad; make me think of her and how wonderful she and my mother were at cooking! Especially around the holidays! I hope you enjoy this salad as much as I do!
4 Medium red apples, tart is best
2 Cups grapes, halved
1 ½ Cup celery, chopped
1 Cup walnuts, chopped
½ Cup mayonnaise
1 Tsp lemon juice
Core and dice the apples leaving the skin on, place in bowl.
Add the celery and the grapes, place in the bowl.
Give the walnuts a light chop, leaving them a little chunky add to the bowl.
Mix together the mayonnaise and lemon then mix it into the salad. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour to let the flavors blend.
